Position Title:  IT Security Auditor/Pen Tester      


Position Type:  Full-time, 40 hours per week minimum

Classification:  Salaried/Exempt            


Reports To:  Senior IT Security Auditor/Project Manager


Position Purpose:


The purpose of the IT Security Auditor is:

  • To comprehensively evaluate our clients’ use and/or implementation of technology and other measures toward their organization’s IT security posture;
  • To use proprietary assessment methodologies based upon relevant government regulations and guidelines for our clients’ industries;
  • To provide custom recommendations for vulnerability remediation that respect clients’ priorities, operations, and resources;
  • To offer ongoing partnership as a trusted security ally to our clients, before, during, and between engagements, drawing upon business and communication acumen (e.g. cross-functional knowledge, strategic mindset, tactical application of solutions, diverse stakeholder communication skills, etc.).
  • To ensure high service quality, client satisfaction, and the greatest prospect of return business;
  • To represent the organization positively externally to sustain and protect its reputation in the market and with clients, prospects, and candidates.


Job Duties:


The IT Security Auditor is responsible for:

  • Contacting clients before engagements to obtain necessary information
  • Performing vulnerability and/or penetration tests on clients’ environments using BAI’s defined and documented procedures.
  • Providing recommendations based on the organization’s firewall and wireless configurations, as well as network and antivirus policies / procedures compared to current industry best practices
  • Conducting social engineering evaluations (email [phishing], phone, and in-person)
  • Continually following up with clients throughout the audit process
  • Authoring extremely well-written/visual reports for client management (executive summaries) and IT staff (technical) based upon the audit findings
  • Providing organization-specific recommendations to remediate vulnerabilities
  • Partnering with clients on between-engagement IT security issues as needed
  • Traveling up to 2 times per month throughout the U.S. for -4 days on each project
  • Other duties as business needs dictate

REQUIRED Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn
  • Knowledge of basic software applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Exceptional writing/communication skills
  • Hard work ethic and professional/personal integrity
  • Desire to commit long-term and advance within a fast-growing organization


PREFERRED Skills and Experience:

  • Balance of technical knowledge with business savvy (industry and trend knowledge; cross-functional organizational awareness; ability to build relationships, think strategically, apply policy and procedures, solve problems; etc.)
  • 3-5 years relevant professional experience
  • Experience with pen-testing, social engineering, red-team, and assessment skills preferred


Performance Measures:

The IT Security Auditor’s job performance will be appraised Core Competencies falling into Professional, Technical, Interpersonal, and Intrapersonal areas. Annual appraisals include opportunities for salary increases based upon performance.



This job is based out of Schaumburg, Illinois, with almost exclusively inside sales. There may be very limited travel for 2-3-day conferences in the U.S., where scheduled sales meetings with targets pre-arranged by a third-party partner and prospect networking will occur.
